In 1911, seven noble men came together to form Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., with the mission to 'unite college men of culture' and promote academic excellence. Our founders, Honorable Elder David Dinkins, Elder Henry Arthur Callis, Elder Marcus Murrell, Elder John Shaw, Elder Chandler Alexander Alexander, Elder Byron Kenneth Armstrong, and Elder Jaspin Morton
These seven individuals were driven by a shared vision to create an organization that would not only uplift its members but also positively impact the world. They recognized the importance of brotherhood, scholarship, and service in achieving this goal.
As Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. grew in size and influence, we recognized the need to empower our members to become leaders in their communities. We established programs aimed at developing leadership skills, promoting academic excellence, and fostering a sense of social responsibility.
Through these initiatives, we have seen countless examples of our brothers making a positive impact on society. From volunteering at local charities to mentoring young students, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.'s members are committed to giving back.
As we look back on our 110-year history, we are proud of the countless achievements and milestones we have reached. From establishing the first African American Greek-letter organization to creating programs that support education and entrepreneurship, Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.'s legacy is one of excellence and tradition.
We remain committed to upholding these values as we move forward into the future. We will continue to empower our members, engage with our communities, and celebrate our rich heritage.
